Recycle IT Australia provides planned data centre and server room decommissioning in Perth for organisations retiring, relocating or refreshing infrastructure. We coordinate secure asset removal, inventory reconciliation, chain of custody, data sanitisation or physical media destruction, reuse assessment, e-waste recycling and project reporting.
Projects can range from individual racks and server rooms to larger infrastructure retirement programs, subject to site access, scope, equipment and timing.
Typical projects may include rack servers, blade systems, storage arrays, SAN and NAS equipment, hard drives and SSDs, switches, routers, firewalls, UPS equipment, PDUs, workstations, monitors, cables and other retired electronic equipment. The treatment path is agreed according to asset condition, data risk, reuse potential and project requirements.
For data-bearing assets, see our secure data destruction service. For broader fleet retirement, see enterprise IT asset disposal.
Data centre decommissioning combines information-security risk with physical asset retirement. Reconcile data-bearing media before removal, preserve chain of custody and retain records tying assets to their final outcome.
Western Australia’s e-waste landfill ban has applied since 1 July 2024. Current WA Government guidance says significant businesses and public entities are expected to demonstrate reasonable efforts to comply, and significant entities have recordkeeping obligations for regulated e-waste transferred to an e-waste service provider.
Recycle IT is a WA Government Category A contractor under CUARWD2025. Read the current WA e-waste landfill-ban guidance and view our credentials and compliance information.
Can you reconcile equipment before it leaves the site?
Yes. Asset identification and reconciliation can be included in the agreed project scope so retired equipment can be matched to its downstream outcome.
Can you erase drives instead of destroying them?
Where media is suitable and the required security outcome permits reuse, secure erasure can preserve equipment value. Physical destruction can be used where required.
Can you manage a server room rather than a full data centre?
Yes. The service can be scoped for server rooms, communications rooms, individual racks or larger infrastructure retirement projects.
Do you provide project reporting?
Yes. Reporting can include agreed asset, data-treatment, destruction and recycling records.
